1. Cinderella

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a kind and gentle girl named Cinderella. She lived with her cruel stepmother and two mean stepsisters, who treated her like a servant. Every day, they made her clean, cook, and do all the chores while they wore fancy dresses and rested. Despite their cruelty, Cinderella remained kind and hopeful, dreaming of a better life.

One day, the king announced a grand ball to find a bride for the prince. Every young woman in the kingdom was invited. Cinderella was so excited and asked her stepmother if she could go. “You?” her stepmother sneered. “You have no dress, no shoes, and no carriage. Stay home and clean!”

Heartbroken, Cinderella watched as her stepmother and stepsisters left for the ball in their fancy gowns. She sat by the fireplace, crying softly. Suddenly, a bright light appeared, and a fairy godmother stood before her. “Don’t cry, dear child,” she said. “You shall go to the ball.”

With a wave of her wand, the fairy godmother turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage, mice into horses, and a rat into a coachman. She transformed Cinderella’s rags into a beautiful gown and gave her sparkling glass slippers. “But remember,” the fairy godmother warned, “the magic will end at midnight. Be home before the clock strikes twelve.”

Cinderella arrived at the ball, and everyone stared in awe. She danced with the prince all night, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her. But as the clock struck twelve, Cinderella remembered the fairy godmother’s warning. She ran away so quickly that she left one of her glass slippers behind.

The next day, the prince searched the kingdom, determined to find the girl who fit the slipper. He visited every house until he reached Cinderella’s. Her stepsisters tried to force their feet into the shoe, but it didn’t fit. Finally, Cinderella tried it on, and it fit perfectly.

The prince knew she was the one. He took her to the palace, and soon they were married. Cinderella forgave her stepmother and stepsisters but never let them hurt her again. She and the prince lived happily ever after.

2. The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Once upon a time, there were four little rabbits: Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter. They lived in a cozy burrow with their mother. One morning, their mother said, “Children, you may go into the fields or the woods, but don’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden. Your father had an accident there, and I don’t want you to get hurt.”

Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail were good little rabbits and went to pick berries. But Peter was curious and mischievous. As soon as his mother was out of sight, he ran straight to Mr. McGregor’s garden.

Peter squeezed under the gate and began eating as much as he could—lettuce, beans, and carrots. Suddenly, Mr. McGregor saw him. “Stop, thief!” he shouted, grabbing a rake.

Terrified, Peter ran as fast as his little legs could carry him. He lost his shoes in the process and tore his jacket on a thorn bush. Mr. McGregor chased him all around the garden, but Peter finally found a hole in the fence and escaped.

When Peter got home, he was tired, cold, and frightened. His mother scolded him gently. “You must listen to me, Peter. I only want to keep you safe.” She tucked him into bed with some chamomile tea, and Peter promised to be more careful in the future.

3. The Little Red Hen

One sunny morning, the Little Red Hen was scratching in the dirt when she found some grains of wheat. “These could make delicious bread,” she thought. “But first, I must plant them.” She called to her friends on the farm. “Who will help me plant the wheat?” she asked.

“Not I,” said the dog, wagging his tail.

“Not I,” said the lazy cat, stretching in the sun.

“Not I,” said the pig, rolling in the mud.

“Then I will do it myself,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.

The wheat began to grow tall and golden. When it was ready to harvest, the Little Red Hen asked again, “Who will help me cut the wheat?”

“Not I,” said the dog.

“Not I,” said the cat.

“Not I,” said the pig.

“Then I will do it myself,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.

After cutting the wheat, she needed to grind it into flour. “Who will help me grind the wheat into flour?” she asked.

“Not I,” said the dog.

“Not I,” said the cat.

“Not I,” said the pig.

“Then I will do it myself,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.

Finally, she used the flour to bake a delicious loaf of bread. The smell of fresh bread filled the air, and her friends came running. “Who will help me eat the bread?” she asked.

“I will!” said the dog.

“I will!” said the cat.

“I will!” said the pig.

“No,” said the Little Red Hen. “I will eat it myself, since I did all the work.” And she did, enjoying every bite of the warm, tasty bread. Her friends learned a lesson: if you don’t help with the work, you don’t share in the reward.
